We chased a total eclipse and here's what happened

Today was an adventure of a lifetime! On August 21st, 2017 at 7am we began to drive South from Portland, Oregon to hit the path of 100% eclipse totality--where the moon completely blocks out the sun. We made it with only a few minutes to spare (just enough time for me to jump on a trampoline and swing on a swingset). Then it began! At first it got cold and then it started to get dim. Finally the shadow hit us and it became total darkness. The sky looked like night and you could even see Venus for a few seconds. After about 80 seconds it went back to being day again. Watch the video to see my reaction and how different the environment looked in the eclipse light.
